Road Maintenance, Rotterdam
This 60-meter-long office building is built on linear terrain in the middle of the harbour next to a container park. On the ground floor are the technical spaces and garages. The corridor on the first floor is totally transparent, connecting the canteen and the meeting room, which are at opposite ends of the building. In between, the offices have windows onto the open land, and glass on the corridor side. The ‘wasteland’ around the building is land art.
